remember someone who's not there. inhale their smell. see the curl of their eyelashes, the length of their fingernails. nuzzle yourself in nook of their chest.

stand in a cube of mirrors. flash a light.

fill the gaps of your teeth with sweet fresh corn. lather your tongue in crumbled cheese, cayenne, mayo.

walk into a library. appreciate all the voices calling out to you, sharing wisdom, the collective life experiences of centuries. in the silence of a library, imagine that thunderous roar.

turn the shower on and all the way to hot hot. shut the door, trap the steam! leave this for too long and create an indoor rain cloud, steam condensing on the ceiling. inhale cloud to clear your lungs, feel rain drops fall on your head. mop the ceiling with a swiffer.
--
find a small room. cover the walls, ceiling, floor with canvas. enter the room with friends (and enemies) and all colors of paint. wear white shirts and pants. have a ball smearing the room with your bodies.
--
inflate a large balloon. tie it with a mile of string. stand outdoors, somewhere unobstructed. let it float until you can only see string. an umbilical cord to the universe.
--
try to live in your head. or a dream, or a nightmare. they are time-less because they never have been and never will be. it's not so bad here.
--
